Vince Francis

Vince was born in Kent and started playing the Cornet under tuition of our own Kevin Kay Bradley. He soon achieved his Grade 8 and was a member of the County Wind Orchestra and Betteshanger Colliery Band where he played under the baton of Joseph Horovitz and Walter Hargreaves. He then took on a musical path that took him away from his wind band and brass band upbringing and worked as a freelance trumpet player specialising in Rhythm & Blues before emigrating to Canada in 1996. When Vince returned to the UK he returned to his Wind Band routes as he took up the position of principle Cornet with the Princess Of Wales Regiment Band. During this time he also worked as a freelance trumpet player playing on many Shows including Annie, Sweeney Todd, Fame and West Side Story.
For the past 8 months Vince has also returned to Brass Band playing where he is now playing for Aveley and Newham Band in Essex. During his time at Aveley he has played under the baton of Nigel Taken and Ian Mcelligott and Frank Renton.
